Week 13 is a picture from Silverstone. It would be an F1 car but none of them have come out very well so it is a Porsche.
It may even be the same Porsche I got a good picture of last year. it's certainly the same team!
This last week has been brilliant for Motorsport enthusiasts. We've been spoilt for choice … The TT on the Isle of Man, F1 in Canada, Lemans 24 Hour, MotoGP at Silverstone and FIM Motocross in Portugal. So much going on in fact that I am only catching up with some of it today.
I'm new to motorbike racing and this is the first year I have watched the TT. I was hoping to see Guy Martin get his first TT win but that wasn't to be. Even so the 2 weeks of the TT have been fascinating. There has been pretty good coverage on ITV4 and on top of that I've been listening to it all live on the Manx Radio iPhone App and taking advantage of the online live timing. There certainly is something a little more 'edge of your seat' about road racing compared to 'track racing'.
A fantastic job by Jenson taking the win even after going through the pits 6 times. Hopefully he can keep up the momentum and stop Vettel running away with it. Hugely disappointed by Lewis this weekend. Now I am a huge fan of Lewis but he isn't going to win another championship if he keeps crashing into people. A little bit of patience and a cool head and he can easily start raking in the wins, just look at Jenson on Sunday. Nobody wants him to stop being a racer and stop pushing, but to win a race you first have to finish the race. Hopefully that'll be dawning on Lewis after this weekend otherwise there'll only be one McLaren, and one British driver, trying to hunt down Vettel at the end of the year.
I've not watched a lot of the Le Mans coverage yet but so far there is one thing that has been reported more than anything else … Oh my word … that was a BIG crash.

The 2010 F1 season has been quite an exciting affair on the whole. Although Red Bull did seem to have by far and away the best car the season remained close and interesting due to mechanical issues and mistakes. This season has highlighted a few things for me:
My Dad, my camera and I went to the Italian Grand Prix at Monza this year. After a lovely week chilling with the family at Lake Maggiore we moved to Milan and Monza for the Grand Prix.
Monza is one of the old tracks and you can still see the remnants of the old banked oval around the new track. The circuit is in a big park in the centre of Monza which is only probably a 30 minute drive from Milan on any other weekend! The weekend of the grand prix is a whole other story. There are no big open spaces to use as a car park so the organisers at monza have an ingenious solution to the parking issues … they close a dual carriageway and park you in the outside lane, nose into the central reservation! You then get a bus to the circuit and walk the last bit of the way (To our seats was about 7km!).
Today my mini e-revo (MERV) arrived. Not the happiest ebaying experience ever it has taken weeks to arrive and isn't in as good a condition as the seller made out, that said I did get it pretty cheap so can't grumble too much (only gave him a neutral feedback though). Anyway as soon as I chop some cables so I can plug the batteries into a fast charger rather than the overnight piece of junk that came with it I shall let you all know how it goes.
Oh my I want one of these soooooooo much!
This weekend was the 2010 British Grand Prix at Silvertstone (yay). Once again my Dad and I went to enjoy the racing and a few beers @ Silverstone Golf Club who put on camping, beer and food for the weekend. The racing was good and McLaren pulled a great result out of the bag (2nd & 4th) after dismal practice and qualifying sessions. The car just would not go around corners! We didn't manage to get a pit tour but hopefully will manage to get one for Monza (My 30th Birthday if you are reading this Team McLaren!). The support races provided some good entertainment (as usual) and the new track layout seemed to work well (the drivers didn't like the bumps, but they were good for the crowd!).
